As of August 21,2023, the pilot test of the first domestic spiral vane pump – the spiral vane multiphase mixed transport pump – has achieved phased success in the Fengcheng Oilfield operation area of Xinjiang Oilfield Company, according to China Petroleum Network (Correspondent Ma Xiaoyan).

The experiment was officially launched on April 12th, 2023 and has been ongoing for over 4 months, with multiple indicators meeting the design requirements. The transportation problem of high-temperature multiphase media in Fengcheng Oilfield is a global challenge, and it is currently necessary to rely on frequent replacement of spare parts and maintenance of screw pumps to support the closed gathering and transportation work. The short lifespan, difficult maintenance, and high cost of screw pumps seriously affect production and operation.

The first domestic spiral vane pump adopts the ternary theory design concept, which combines the functions of a compressor. It has advantages such as high temperature resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, compact structure, easy maintenance, low operating cost, and energy saving. Spiral vane pumps can reduce the frequency of faults in closed system oil pumps, extend their service life, reduce manual labor intensity, avoid environmental pollution, and effectively ensure the safe and stable operation of closed gathering and transportation systems.

In addition, to  ensure the reliability of the sealing flushing and cooling water supply of the screw blade multiphase mixed pump in the Fengcheng Oilfield operation area, a circulating water supply system has been installed, equipped with relevant automation monitoring equipment and alarm interlocking control system.
